Pretty easy install other than working in the limited space above the gas pedal in the 4th gen Tacoma. Make sure to follow the instructions as far letting the ECU go to "sleep", but once you start the install it only takes a couple minutes. It took me longer to decide where I wanted it mounted. I ended up drilling a small hole through the access panel just big enough to fit the cable.
The unit definitely allows the truck to accelerate much faster, and with all the different settings, you can find that sweet spot after some test drives, and playing with the different modes.

Greetings Pedal commander company. I recently purchased pedal commander for my 2022 Toyota Tacoma V6. Like most owners of the Tacoma they experience the dreaded throttle lag. My experience was with a/c on and moving into traffic was terrible. I needed something to help eliminate those situations of throttle lag. Thus pedal commander. So far I am very satisfied with the product. It is easy to install and setup. I keep it on one setting, city 2 and go. No need to jump around with other settings. I would recommend pedal commander for the Tacoma as no more throttle lag. An excellent product to have on the Tacoma.

The installation was pretty straightforward. I did have a problem trying to plug the Pedal Comander into the. Accelerator port. Contacted the help line and was sent a video showing the possible problem was the incerlator may be stuck in side of the Accelerator. Only way I could verify was to remove the two flange nuts and remove the pedal. Once this was confirmed to be the issue the rest of the process was smooth. I started off in the Sport Plus mode #4. Wow!!. Acceleration was awesome.i have. Been trying different settings and so for I really like the City+4 setting.With that setting I get about 22mpg around town, with good Throttle response. No Trips yet but I and well pleased so for.No more Pedal lag for me. Thanks Pedal Comander.

Miracle Product! I was about to sell/trade my 2021 Tacoma with its persnickety transmission, but the Toyota service center (of all places) highly recommended getting this instead. When I bought my new 2023 Tacoma the salesman kept telling me to “gun it” during the test drive. I didn’t realize why until I drove my new truck around. Terrible hesitation and lag when hitting the gas. I pulled the trigger on the pedal commander because of all the positive news I’d been reading about it. Well slap my face and call me Sally! This is great product and very affordable for what it can do. My wife’s has 2019 Tacoma and to be nice it was a turd on throttle response. My 2015 has better response with no pedal commander. I will be ordering one soon for mine as well. She runs 35” tires and it’s pretty peppy now. If you don’t have one you need this product

Total GAME CHANGER. Very easy to install. I had acquired a tool that was an electrical "plug" puller so that I could unplug the connection at the top of the accelerator bar. I have weak fingers and this made it very simply to install.

I do enjoy the throttle response and acceleration it gives you , but do notice sometimes there is a small lag when kicking to the next gear if you push the pedal a little harder or take off fast from a light just to see how fast the pedal response is with the transmission kicking into gear, but does help with the factory slow lag and does respond faster than factory.

Installed the Pedal Commander over the weekend on my 2023 Tacoma Pro V6. The truck had an acceleration lag (pretty much across all v6 engines) until I installed the Pedal Commander. What a difference on acceleration now. The tuck is much more responsive. I tried all the different settings and found that “City +2” is enough for my driving needs. It took 10 minutes to install and I chose to tuck it behind the lower console panel to prevent me from bumping it with my foot. I use the Bluetooth on my IPhone to set it. Very easy to use and so far the truck drives better than when I drove it new off the lot. I highly recommend this for any Tacoma owner.

I was incredibly skeptical about this product but after doing a some light research, I decided to give it a shot. In my 2016 Tacoma, it’s night and day different. It’s incredible what this product is capable of doing. Sport+ mode is a gas guzzler, but what do you expect? More power means more gas used, but, If you’re worried about how much gas you’re using, then you probably should be using the $300 for gas, you cheap bastard. Haha. Overall, it’s dope. Highly recommend.

Was easy to install, once you got the connection off..Have 23 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport...not much room under that dash..Wish the cable was just alittle longer. Does eliminate all lag in throttle. Does make gas pedal Very touchy. I'm currently using City 1, just to get used to it. But does make it more fun to drive.

This little device is amazing.
Before installing the Pedal Commander in my 2024 Tacoma, pulling into traffic caused some anxiety, as the electronic throttle was so slow to respond. After installing it, I have no worries at all. The pedal response is nearly instant, and it gives me so much more control when off-roading.
Cons: Pairing with Bluetooth is horrible. The only way to get it to work is to completely delete all other Bluetooth devices from your phone, and then you can add Pedal Commander. It took me an hour to figure this out, and after looking through forums, I found that this is common practice with this device. This is a huge issue when you use many devices like I do. Fix this and it gets 5 stars.

I have a 2023 Toyota Tacoma XP model with the V6. I installed the pedal command unit in about 10 minutes. WOW!!! What a true immediate improvement on the response when you step on the gas pedal. LOVE IT!!! I am actually now able to just lightly touch and feather the gas pedal and it also improved my gas mileage because of this by 0.2 tenths. (Not a whole lot, but it did improve it). Yet, I did not purchase it for that reason. I just wanted my truck to be fun to drive! On the SPORT PLUS mode, it is AWESOME!!! I highly recommend the Pedal Command!!

I have had the Petal Commander installed for about two weeks. Getting to the throttle cable under my dash, was difficult, but once I got to the connection it was easy to install. I have been driving in Eco Mode, doing only around town driving and have noticed about 2MPG improvement over what I used to get. I will be taking a 500 mile trip next week and hope to see a better improvement on the HWY.

Eco mode is kind of lame, but sport plus is almost too much for every day driving. But a nice option to have. merging onto the Thruway is much better now!!

I do kind of feel like the number of settings is a bit overkill, I have a hard time seeing anyone needing that much granularity. The only reason I even care is to get to "maximum" output, I have to hit the main button a couple times .. then the smaller "+" button a few times ... too damn many "pushes"

The Pedal Commander improved my 2019 TRD Off Road Tacoma throttle response and it drives so much better. Using the City Mode plus 2 setting as this seems like a good setting for normal driving conditions. The transmission even shifts smoother now and the gas mileage is still about the same but I feel like I don’t have to drive like I am trying to save gas…. Highly recommend this modification as it has transformed my truck into an awesome Tacoma! Thanks Pedal Commander!!!

It took only 16 minutes to install the Pedal Commander on my 2021 Tacoma 4x4.
15 of those minutes were spent waiting for the ECU to fully shut down. I adjusted the setting to Sport +4. The throttle response was amazing! It felt like I added some high performance mods.
I barely have to touch the throttle & the truck just takes off! The throttle response & shifting is clean & crisp with no throttle or shifting lag.

2014 Tacoma 2.7L was hard to like. Especially when trying to get into traffic. Now I dont have to think about selling the truck for a V6. Its not a rocket, but It was one of the best mods I did that you can feel immeditely. Just wish it would got to stock when going in reverse.

I have a 2022 Tacoma and waited to post this review until I had a chance to try out all of the options. I purchased this mainly to eliminate the lag on acceleration. Simple put it does just that. I have tried different setting since I have had it and found my favorite. There has been no loss in fuel economy either.
I read multiple reviews on this product before purchasing and saw a 50 50 response on it. I personally like it. It was simple to install, was reasonably priced compared to other mods and I would recommend it.

2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road 3.5 V6 -
Instal: very easy install, took maybe 10 minutes total. For a real clean look mount to the left of the steering column near the aux button space and run the wire behind the plastic cover of the lower dash below the steering wheel.
Performance: immediate difference in pedal response and pick when in City, Sport, Sport + modes. There is no longer any lag when running those modes and makes the truck a lot more fun to drive. Don’t waste your time in eco mode as it turns the truck into a turtle. I recommend just turning the pedal commander off as opposed to using eco mode for that type of feel.
I do recommend this for anyone with a Tacoma as it is a super quick, easy, and very noticeable change in performance and pedal response.
