Pedal Commander® Throttle Response Controller For Volkswagen Touareg

My auto transmission lag backed by turbo lag was so frustrating, almost two seconds is scary with traffic barreling towards me . Now, with the pedal commander the lag is almost gone and the car is more lively. Best money I’ve spent in a long time!

Wow! Huge difference Sport+ is sensitive as hell.

After considering all of the ways one could tune or enhance a car, it was apparent that throttle modulation could actually work for a Touareg TDI.I read reviews on every device out there and consulted forums way before I decided to try this device. I went into this purchase with 100% skepticism and the following is an honest review.Installation was not 15 minutes. For a Touareg, you need about 45. You must remove three parts of the dash and remove the throttle pedal as well. Plug and play harness was easy to connect. I tested the car out in eco -2 first. It made the car a dog...just like winter mode in a Volvo...it was great! I could see this being a useful addition down the line. I may even try a whole tank in eco mode to see its apparent benefit.Next mode was city +2. While it was not exactly a night and day difference, it was noticeable. The shifting By the 8 speed was finally felt like in a Range Rover or cayenne. I returned from this small test and finished installation. Test two started out with race +2. Honestly...wow. The car feels alive. Who would have thought that over sampling the pedal output would have such an effect. The TDI ROARS to life off the line. You’re nearly thrown into second gear. By the time your hit third gear...you’re already going to get a speeding ticket.I tried race +4 and noticed that the car spools up and shifts better. Sport + mode...you don’t need it. It’s just scary. Save yourself this mode for the track or off road...they were not kidding. You can launch normally with light pedal use...but any more than a 10% depression...you will be redlining in literally one second. No one needs this mode. It’s too lurchy and trigger like. It’s like driving an old school muscle car with ITBs...just a tap and pooof...you’re gone.A bit more testing and I decided that city +4 to race +2 is a nice sweet spot for lead foots. It will make your Touareg a different car. I let my other Touareg buddy try it and he literally ordered the same part within seconds of giving back my keys. It’s not that it’s “that good” it’s that it’s “that different”. Less lag, more go, less spool up time, faster shifting...all together makes that car perform...better. I can’t say you will win any drag races...but from 0 to 40...you better have a good grip and full attention...because you will be thrown back into your seat. All the power that was there is exactly the same...what is different is when you feel the changes. I concur that it mimics the feeling of Cable driven throttle...it’s quite nice.I fully recommend this for anyone that wants to feel what the Touareg can really deliver....lots of torque, really fast.

Gives my Porsche Cayenne the responsiveness it should have. Easy to install.

Product works as intended. Even little too much. If I would have my 4.2 A6 back than would be perfect. Now with the tank Q7 4.2 it accelerates better but this car transmission is tuned more for torque than acceleration. Plus the mpg went down a lot from already low average. Great product just car is too heavy for it. For this car not a keeper unfortunately

Absolutely unbelievable difference when I installed this Pedal Commander on my 2012 VW Touareg! Wow! Amazing pedal response. It's like it reprograms the engine and gives you so much more power. I don't even use the Sport +. Just the regular Sport Mode is more than enough. Love it!!!

Works great, cant believe they haven't outlawed this for Californians.Made my Cayenne respond like a Porsche should. worst money I've ever spend, wish i had it back. just wanted the lag gone not my gas mileage wrecked down to 6mpg

I just received this last week for my 2011 Cayenne S. While the Cayenne is already not a slow car, it does have the lag in the pedal that I thought stinks even before I had heard of the pedal commander. The first two inches of pedal movement very little happened (no pun intended...). The car in general responds much better. Sport+ turns it into a beast. I have not tested the time on 0-60mph, but it can only be much faster. But I didn't buy it to beat a Mustang at the street light, but to move the car when my foot wants it to. And it does now. I do expect that I will save a few percent on fuel as well in the eco mode.The installation on the Cayenne is very easy too, just one screw holds the panel under the steering wheel, and once that is off you can pull the panel slightly down and then towards you. The plug itself is next to another piece and not easy to take off but this still will not take you longer than 15 minutes to do the whole job.Even though the installation is quite straight forward and yes everyone can do it without the installation guide I still suggest that you at least read the information that is in the inside of the box.I did buy this directly from the manufacturer.

Works as described. Maybe even a little too good.Though I have not yet run the numbers in economy mode to see the savings.
